Generally, the Generations of computers are defined their technological changes:-

  • 2nd  generation computers (1956-1963): Uses Transistors
  • 3rd  generation computers (1964-1971): Uses Integrated Circuits (Ics), reduced the size of computers
  • 4th  generation computers (1972- 2010): Uses Microprocessors & ICs
  • 5th  generation computers (2010-Present): Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Example: iPhone, Cortana on Windows 8, and 10.
